Governor Tate Reeves recently named Laura Hipp as interim director of the Mississippi Development Authority.
Hipp recently served as Chief Marketing Officer at MDA.
Hipp has extensive experience shaping communications and public policy strategy. She was director of communications for Gov. Tate Reeves when he served as Lt. Governor and worked with elected officials and the private sector. She previously served as director of communications for former Gov. Haley Barbour.
She worked for 10 years as an award-winning reporter in Mississippi and Texas, including at The Clarion-Ledger and Austin Business Journal. She has a master’s degree in public policy and administration from Mississippi State University and a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Texas Tech University.
