Don Hinton was born and raised in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, the second child of two psychologists. The family moved to Dothan, Alabama his junior year of high school. He attended the University of Mississippi for both his undergraduate degree in biology and his law degree.
Don worked as an attorney in Marks for about a year, and then moved back to Hattiesburg when he married his wife Amy. He practiced for approximately 20 years in Hattiesburg, mostly with the firm of Pittman, Howdeshell and Hinton.
Don became the Director of Legal Affairs for Cooperative Energy in 2016 and was recently named the general counsel. He has two kids, Madeline and Beau, who are a senior and a freshman at Sacred Heart Catholic School. Madeline will be attending Ole Miss next year. He is an attorney coach for the Sacred Heart Mock Trial Team in his 22nd year with the program. He likes to golf, hunt and fish in his spare time.
