In September of 2013, Penney Ainsworth, joined the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Mississippi as President/CEO. She’s been a professional in the Boys & Girls Clubs movement for over 20 years. Her career in Boys & Girls Clubs has taken her across the country from Virginia through Georgia, Kansas City, and Central Mississippi. Penney’s tenure with Boys & Girls Clubs began in 1997 as Program Specialist in the Roberts Village Unit of the Boys & Girls Club of South Hampton Roads in Norfolk, Virginia and included positions as Program Director, Unit Director, Director of Operations, Director of Teen Services with the corporate office Boys & Girls Clubs of America, and Project Director of the Georgia State Alliance. Penney graduated from Norfolk State University with a master’s degree in Social Work concentrating in community development. She has served on several Boards in various capacities. Penney is an active member in the Boys & Girls Clubs Professional Association, SOOAP, and a national trainer for Boys & Girls Clubs of America. Outside of Penney’s commitment to her family, she is focused on local and national efforts in the areas of youth development, mentoring and the plight of single mothers.
