Elissa Fulton studied Public Relations at Tulane University and received a Master in Business Administration from Mississippi College. She is a communications specialist at the Electric Cooperatives of Mississippi in Ridgeland where she serves the electric cooperative network as an editor for the statewide cooperative publication Today in Mississippi. The magazine is distributed to 450,000 rural Mississippians monthly. Elissa also serves as director for the statewide electric cooperative Youth Leadership Program, coordinating an annual legislative workshop and an annual Youth Tour of Washington, D.C. She is also involved in various communications projects, public relations and meeting planning for 25 distribution cooperatives and a generation and transmission cooperative in south Mississippi. Elissa resides in Yazoo City and has one daughter, Olivia, a junior at Manchester Academy. When she is not serving the electric cooperative membership, she can be found on the basketball court or soccer field cheering on her favorite Maverick.
