Mac McAnally

You can look far and wide throughout the music world, but you’ll never find anyone more deserving of respect and acclaim than Mississippi’s Mac McAnally.

McAnally is no stranger to the spotlight. He’s been releasing albums since he was 20 years old. He’s experienced the thrill of topping the singles charts, in a duet recording of his
composition “Down the Road” with longtime pal Kenny Chesney. He’s also written several No. 1 hits, including Alabama’s “Old Flame.”

His star shines even brighter among music business insiders. For years a first-call musician in both Nashville and Muscle Shoals, he has amassed vast session credits with George Strait, Martina McBride, Dolly Parton, Keith Whitley, George Jones, Brad Paisley, Toby Keith, Billy Joel, Trisha Yearwood, Reba McEntire … really, it’s probably easier to list who Mac hasn’t played with since he started doing studio dates in the late ‘70s.

His peers have voted him CMA Musician of the Year for an unprecedented eight years in a row. He’s a member of the Nashville Songwriters’ Hall of Fame and the Mississippi Musicians Hall of Fame. It’s gotten to the point where he can’t even drive down Second Street in his old hometown of Belmont without seeing his name on a marker, honoring him along with Jimmie Rodgers, Marty Stuart and a few other legends along the Mississippi Country Music Trail.

Mississippi Celebration Morning Sessions

Erin & Ben Napier
Stars of HGTV’s Home Town

Ben Erin Napier Photo 2

Erin and Ben Napier, stars of HGTV’s Home Town, live and restore homes in small town Mississippi. The couple restored their own 1925 Craftsman-style cottage and are taking their experience to the community.
Erin, an artist who started her career in corporate graphic design, and Ben, a woodworker with a degree in history, embrace a passion for renovating historic homes. In the new series, families purchase historic homes and benefit from Erin’s visionary sketches and Ben’s custom handiwork showcasing local reclaimed materials.

The premier of Home Town was the second highest rated premiere in HGTV history.

Ben serves as the president a local organization that strives to improve and grow their own historic downtown area. Meanwhile, Erin uses her graphic design skills to brand and market to inspire the city’s rebirth.

When they aren’t renovating homes for new residents, the couple keeps themselves busy with their made in the U.S.A. shop. They and four of their best friends sell heirloom wares and durable goods.
Erin and Ben reside in Laurel, Mississippi with their dogs.

Erin & Ben Napier will also appear at the Annual Meeting Luncheon.

The Economics of Transportation

Research shows an investment in transportation will grow the economy and create jobs. More than 25 states have made additional investments in transportation infrastructure in recent years.

This morning session will provide an analytical look at what this investment meant in other states, and why preserving Mississippi’s transportation infrastructure is vital to our state’s economy.
