West Point High School Student Graduates as Mississippi Scholars Tech Master

West Point Tech Master StudendPittmaCareer and Technology Director Patrick Ray presented student Jeffrey Pittman with his Tech Master Scholar Certificate and his ProStart Certification at the West Point High School Awards Day Program.

The Mississippi Scholars Tech Master program is part of the Mississippi Scholars Program supported by the Mississippi Economic Council.  The program was started in the 2013-14 school year, and there were 285 Tech Master graduates in the seven initial schools.  Pittman will be the first Tech Master Scholar for the Career and Technology Center at West Point High School.

Pittman will also graduate with ProStart certification.  To do this, Pittman passed the Level 1 and Level 2 exams and documented 400 hours of work experience.  Earning this certification will allow him to get 15 hours of college credit when he enters Mississippi University for Women this fall.
