Mississippi Delta Regional Round-Up Electronic Polling Results

Indianola

The MEC Missississippi Delta Regional Roundup stopped recently in Indianola on Tuesday, December 09. Over 80 business and community leaders took part in the event, which focused on Mississippi’s economic competitiveness, educational achievement and workforce training, and healthy communities. In addition, there were discussion on transportation and utilizing the area’s natural resources to grow the economy.

Almost 55 percent of attendees believe lack of skilled workforce is the biggest roadblock Mississippi faces in economic development. Also, 89 percent believe highways and bridges should be the top priority when improving the state’s transportation infrastructure.

Clarksdale

In addition, there were discussion on transportation and utilizing the area’s natural resources to grow the economy.

Over 55 percent of attendees believe the lack of a skilled workforce is the biggest roadblock Mississippi faces in economic development. Also, 88 percent believe highways and bridges should be the top priority when improving the state’s transportation infrastructure.

Over 53 percent of attendees believe the lack of a skilled workforce is the biggest roadblock Mississippi faces in economic development. Also, 68 percent believe highways and bridges should be the top priority when improving the state’s transportation infrastructure.
