Holly Springs
The MEC Northwest Regional Roundup stopped recently in Holly Springs on Thursday, Nov. 13. Over 70 business and community leaders took part in the event, which focused on Mississippi’s economic competitiveness, educational achievement and workforce training, and healthy communities. In addition, there were discussion on transportation and utilizing the area’s natural resources to grow the economy.
Almost 50 percent of attendees believe a negative perception of the state’s image is the biggest roadblock Mississippi faces in economic development. Also, 81 percent believe highways and bridges should be the top priority when improving the state’s transportation infrastructure.
