Mississippi Gulf Coast Regional Round-Up Electronic Polling Results

 

Harrison County

The MEC Gulf Coast Regional Roundup stopped recently in Harrison County on Wednesday, Nov. 5. Over 110 business and community leaders took part in the event, which focused on Mississippi’s economic competitiveness, educational achievement and workforce training, and healthy communities. In addition, there were discussion on transportation and utilizing the area’s natural resources to grow the economy.

Almost 55 percent of attendees believe a negative perception of the state’s image is the biggest roadblock Mississippi faces in economic development. Also, 47 percent believe highways and bridges should be the top priority when improving the state’s transportation infrastructure.

Over 145 business and community leaders took part in the event, which focused on Mississippi’s economic competitiveness, educational achievement and workforce training, and healthy communities. In addition, there were discussion on transportation and utilizing the area’s natural resources to grow the economy.

Almost 57 percent of attendees believe a negative perception of the state is the biggest roadblock Mississippi faces in economic development. Also, 54 percent believe highways and bridges should be the top priority when improving the state’s transportation infrastructure.
