Leadership Mississippi Class of 2014 Completes First Session in Jackson

The 2014 Class of Leadership Mississippi held its opening session on January 30 – 31 in Jackson at the Hilton Garden Inn, formerly the Historical King Edward Hotel, with politics being the major focus. This year’s class features 52 leaders from across the state who will spend the upcoming year learning and traveling to all regions of Mississippi to get a better understanding of issues important to the task of moving Mississippi forward.
This session featured Dr. Sam Jones, LM Class of 2010-2011, Dean of Students at Jones County Junior College; Andy Taggart, LM Class of 1986-1987, Taggart, Rimes & Grisham, PLLC; Rebecca Wiggs, LM Class of 1994-1995, Watkins & Eager; Lindy Aldy, LM class of 1982-1983, Aldy & Company/Mississippi Optometric Association; and Judge James Maxwell, LM class of 2007, US Court of Appeals. Presenters also included Jere Nash, political analyst, and Tyson Elbert of the John C. Stennis Institute of Government. The Old Capitol Museum in Jackson was the scene of our alumni reception.
